XP Install CD's

Quick question, I've just got a laptop from a friend, an Acer Travelmate 4670, which had XP Pro. He's replaced it, so was going to throw it, but I took it off him. He's done a full low-level format of the HDD, so no recovery partition etc. I want to reinstall XP, but don't have the media. What would the best way to go about getting a CD be? Is it possible to create one with nLite, or do you need an existing CD to do that?
Many thanks,
Tim

Do you still have the XP Pro serial number on the hologram sticker on the underneath?
Since there will be a fair number of Acer-specific programs accompanying XP Pro, your best bet would be to use a CD belonging to another Acer owner - identical model, preferably!0 -
Still has a COA, not sure about getting one from another user. I should be able to get all the drivers and programs from the acer site.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

The orginal disk will have been a recovery disk with a hidden partition on the HDD, so with a reformat and removal of the partition, he is !!!!!!ed. MS wont be much help as its OEM. Your best bet is to try Acer, they may will send you a full OS with Xp becoming unsupported soon.0

Ugh! what?
Acer aren't going to be cheap when it comes to getting a full OS install CD.
Just beg, steal or borrow a disk for XP pro OEM and download all the Acer drivers/software from their website. You can even download the XP pro ISO file and burn it to CD yourself.
Be prepared for a little bit of hassle, I would allow 3-6 hours to fully reinstall and reconfigure XP pro with all the correct drivers.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'm happy to spend the time, in fact, it's what I would have done with an intact HDD. Where would you suggest downloading the ISO from?Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0
