we have a young child (<1 year old) that we want to start getting used to the water and learning to swim eventually.
just wondered if anyone could recommend a good toddler swimming pool to get started and the rough cost of going.
i live in glengormley if that is any help but do drive.

thanks

  • We used to use Six mile water leisure centre as it had a very shallow pool, my husband said it was like a saucer, then progressed to both Carrick Leisure centre and Valley, but they were much busier. I think at the time Six Mile was about £2.50 for adult and baby was free, you can also buy books of tickets to decrease the price..

have to say I love the pirate ship toddler pool at Lagan Valley, very shallow, couple of very small slides that you could hold your child on and have then slide down into the water, theres also a lazy river that you could float around in while holding your child as well, your child would be free, think its about £2.50 as well - it also has some jacuzzi style pools beside it with lots of bubbles

Adult admission to the leisure pool in Lisburn is £5.20.

not if you go in the morning sessions where they don't turn the slides on until the parent toddler session is over - never paid more than £2.50 for it

    Fair enough.

I haven't been to the Leisureplex in a very long time; its policies make it impossible for me to use the pool except on weekends, and it's too busy on weekends to be enjoyable.

So we bought a membership elsewhere and don't go to Lisburn at all. I know several other families in the same situation.
