The skin of a ripe mango is delicious, my DD loves the skin more than the flesh. I eat my mango(ripe and soft) without peeling using my teeth as a knife until the stone is bare, yummy

    mango - here goes!
place it flat lengthways on worktop/board - whatever
using a sharp knife slice aroound its middle
then u turn one half away from you and the other half towards you.
one of the halfs should then slide off, leaving you with one half of the mangoe with the complete stone in it (half of it sticking out) and the other half without . this u can now cut into slices, or scoopit with a spoon.
now the half with the stone in it, - hold the stone in your gob, twist the remaining mango around , which should now slide off, and hey presto , you can scoopit out agin.
suck the stone, until its dry, yummy, yummy!

its not as complicated as it sounds, just another way of eating this delicious fruit!
    Nice to save.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I usually make four cuts down the length of the mango so it's quartered and then just peel the skin off and then just cut the mango off into a bowl. So long as the mango is reasonably ripe you shouldn't have a problem with doing it that way. Lidls had them the other week for 39p each, I bought 3 and they were very good.

The actual way to peel a proper mango without wasting so much flesh is :-

An example : Potato. We use a peeler to peel potato, do the same with mango but using a sharp knife instead. start from the top never from the bottom end of the mango as you will end up with alot of fibre.

The most important thing is the knife must be sharp. Once you have finish peeling it, cut the mango into half don't worry if you get stuck in the middle (the stone) just carry on do the same on the other side. Cut into chunks & you have your mango dessert nice & crunchy!

    Wow, it's amazing!
I bought a mango for the first time the other day and got into a right mess only this morning trying to chop it up. I decided to buy tinned next time, but after this I'll have to buy another fresh one and have a go.
