Please can anyone advise on flights from Belfast to Toronto direct.
I though you could fly there from the International Airport but when I go online to search only can get flights via Glasgow/Manchester/London.
Have anyone gone there recently? and if so what airline would they recommend for service etc.
I would be flying to Toronto between now and probably Dec..
Please only genuine replys as flight is to be taken due to ill relative in Canada and I shall be travelling alone.
Thanks

As far as I know, the only flights this year direct from Belfast are to Hamilton airport from Belfast flying Globespan. My mother in law is here at present and she flew this route. Is your relative actually in Toronto? Hamilton is a much smaller airport and easier especially if travelling alone. It is about 40 miles from Toronto I think but not 100% sure. If you want any more details I will ask my mother in law for you as she lives in London Ontario and travels a lot through Pearson Int (Toronto) and Hamilton.
I think there is a flight from Dublin, Air Canada but usually after Sept or Oct it will fly to Heathrow before continuing onto Canada.

I hope this helps, if you need more info just ask..0 -
An alternative worth considering is Air Transat (https://www.airtransat.com) who fly from Dublin airport to Pearson International at Toronto. I have been looking at both Air Transat and Globespan for my father. He would be travelling on to Winnipeg, and the connecting flight options are plus points for the Dublin-Pearson route. Travelling to Dublin Airport is an not too bad, influenced by where you are starting from and whether you are driving or not.

Thanks ro kidshorsesdogs and Leskerr.
I am not sure which airport I would need to fly into but my brother lives in Mississauga incase anyone knows the area.
Belfast would be the closer airpost for me but I would travel from any airport, as the trip would not be a holiday.:beer:0 -
Hi, Toronto is closest, about 14 miles, Hamilton 32 miles. It would cost about £35 dollars for a taxi from Pearson airport to Mississauga which isn't too bad. It would cost about $125 from Hamilton to Mississauga. There is off course the option of hire care.. Hope that helps..0

Actually looks closer in Google Maps, the bulk of the distance appears to be travelling around the airport perimeter! (Search for directions from pearson international to Mississauga, ON, Canada in http://maps.google.com )
Just to add that the Aircoach from Belfast to Dublin Airport is cheap and convenient, if you don't want to have long stay carparking charges.

Have recently flown with flyglobespan.com Cheapest flights that I could find at time. Small airport so easy to get around. Can hire car for onward travel.
