Hi I cooked some beef mince meat on friday evening about 7pm. I used half, let the rest cool, and popped it into the fridge. I didn't fancy it this evening, so, thought I would make a shepherds pie with it tomorrow(Sunday). I'm now worrying that it won't be safe to eat.
Is it safe to eat? Cooked Friday 7pm...... Re heat Sunday 5pm ??
TIA

Of course it will be safe to eat if it's been in the fridge since it cooled after cooking. Just to be on the safe side, ensure that it's piping-hot when it comes out of the oven. Factory-made foods sit in the fridge at the supermarket for up to a fortnight after being cooked.0

It should be fine I have done this before and you will probably find that like a casserole left for a day or so it improves in flavour and as bitter and twisted says make sure it is piping hot all the way through.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Cooked and raw meat will keep for about 3-5 days in the fridge.
I'm curious to know why so many people think meat cannot be kept for more than a day. We seem to get a question like this every week.0 -
The reason? No domestic science lessons in schools any more, I reckon. Although I'm not a meat-eater any longer it still surprises me that people don't actually know that meat is hung for quite a lot time before being sold, which is the same thing as storing it at home in the fridge to my mind.0
