I have seen a home I wish to buy and have put an offer in. If the offer is accepted, usually, how long between now and till we exchange contracts?

The average is probably 10-12 weeks.
The timescales that make up the average can be anything from a few days to longer than 6 months.
My housemove last yeat took 8 months due to the complexity of the chain.0 -
Not only is there the chain but the efficiency of those working for you. The greatest hold up, imho is chinese whispers. The ideal situation would be to deal direct with the buyer/seller and cut out all the confusion which leads to delays, misunderstandings, animosity when in reality it could be rather straight forward. Sorry estate agents, but in some cases you have a lot to answer for.0
