I had this the other way round when an American friend took a recipe book back to the States. She couldn’t buy coriander anywhere, until she realised that over there they use it for Mexican dishes and call it cilantro.
I have similarly had to translate courgette and aubergine for American visitors (zucchini and egg plant).0 -
Just to point out that the OP asked for advice on cilantro over 12 years ago - 12th April 2006.
I'm sure she's either recreated her traditional Canary Island sauce or given up.
And it's unlikely she'll read this thread as she hasn't logged on for over 4 years.
Just pointing it out to save people wasting their time giving advice.0 -
