Just been to B & Q and picked up 2 really massive white paint pots (the largest you can get i think). There was absoloutly masses on display and are B & Q's own brand . In matt and silk and only in white. They have been reduced to £5 .

I bought 2 as you always need white paint and you can't go wrong for that price.

You'll end up paintinbg several more coats on than you would with decent paint. It's only really any good for refreshing already white paint. I wouldn't put myself through the heartache of trying to cover plaster or a different colour with that stuff.

I've got an entire replasterd house to paint in the next few weeks!

I've used the B&Q own brand stuff before and it's been fine. The value range was another matter though! :rotfl:

I agree, the stuff covers like milk :( Depends how much you value your time!

Edit: I'm talking about the Value range here. The Colours stuff seems ok.

Thanks for taking the time to post though :)

also find the pigments are not that great, tend to yellow quickly.

I painted our bedroom white with glidden trade paint as I find b&q etc stuff carp. It gets tatty easily and as said above it's sooooooooo pathetic for going over darker colours.

I have had this stuff before and it is fine. Value stuff is like painting with water. This is fine . I have just painted a plastered ceiling with it and it only needed 2 coats which i would have done with most other paints anyway. so not bad.

I was aleays told to water down the first coat on fresh plaster to a water like mixture as the plaster soaks it up so much, either that or pva it. so would use this for that. agree on maybe having to give two or more coats though

FOCUS emulsion paint is by far the better. It is as good as Dulux and we bought 2 tins on offer to try. We will never buy Dulux emulsion again as it is the twice the price of Focus.
