or you could get cetrizine which is the same thing for around 60p at asda , or 28p for 30 at chemist direct. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You might want to check out chemist-4-u where the generic tablets are 0.99p for 30 tablets.
There is postage but the site is going slowly at the moment, so I can't say how much, but it's probably cheaper if you bulk buy.0 -

I think it's 69p but thanks for the tip.0 -
you are right but some people are just suckers for branded products. I'm usually pretty good when it comes to buying generic alternatives but zirteks always worked for my hayfever and i dont want to take the chance of buying another product and suffering the consequences of snot running down my chin all day.
As long as the product contains 10mg of cetrizine hydrochloride then they all do pretty much the same thing its just i dont want to take the risk.0 -

What risk could there be, though?
It's accepted that the active ingredient required is 10mg cetrizine and all the generic remedies contain this. We are currently using some generic packs from chemistdirect that cost 69p for 30 tabs. OK, unless you spend £40 there's p&p to pay but when you consider these generics cost 2.3p per tab as opposed to Zirtek at 10.2p per tab (and that's including the BOGOF) it's still a little bit of a no-brainer IMO. Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
There should be no risk.
However if by some small chance they didn't work the same, you can alsways go back to old tablets having spent next to nothing.
Chances are very high that they will work just as well.
I also buy paracetamol and ibuprofen from wilkinsons for about 33p rather than paying serveral pounds for brnads like Nurofphen.
I appreicate they have developement costs to cover, but otherwsie you are just being ripped off.
I think I got some asprin for 11p (I don't use them much but useful to have in the house).0 -
:T Thanks will see if any left at my local Tesco. Zirtek are the only ones that work well for me

I ordered some Fridat afternoon from Chemist direct and sticked up for next year.
They were dispatched today, so please with their service and I haven't used them before.
I really have no idea why some of you still want to pay those prices at Tesco.
Beats me

Studies show that there is actually a placebo effect for branded products for some people. I guess it depends on how you feel about medications. the generic product would do it for me but not for some people apparently
