Dealing with missed / late payments pre-mortgage - any advice?

Hi all, I've agreed to help my mother in law out with a mortgage application. Before we proceed I advised her to sign up to the free Experian trial to check her credit history etc.
It all looks fine with the exception of 4 late payments (totaling less than £200) showing up to three different mail order firms over the past 12 months.
She's cleared all of the outstanding balances BUT what I want to know is there any way to have these records removed from her credit file before we start on a mortgage application?
I'd like to get this done first time & don't want anything to halt / slow down or flag up during the application process if possible.
Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time to reply.

As far as I know she cant have them removed.
She made the payments late, its on her file, and will stay on there regardless of if she has got them up to date or not.0 -

.
No there isn't. Credit files a are a factual account of how an individual has conducted their credit accounts. There would be no point in them if people could just 'remove' missed payments etc.0 -
Hmmmm, that's not the reply I was hoping for.
So it's not possible to 'repair credit' at all then?
I really was hoping to have these late payments removed somehow.0 -

Credit will be repaired through time, and through not having any more late payments - you can't just remove a failure to pay a bill on time, and it wouldn't really be fair if you could.0 -

No, as already stated.0 -
Can anyone tell me if you can claim charges back on my previous mortgage. We went through a very rough financial time, plus the due mortgage date was not convenient for us so every month we would get charged for return D/D not only from our bank but C&G also. £31.00 every month soon mounts up,then i have things like First stage arrears charge of £10.00, Interim statement Fee of £21.00, plus £573.77 for repaying in full. I just do not understand all these charges. I must state that this was an interest only mortgage i dont know if this would have made a difference. Can anyone help0
