Thought I would let you all know that I got my £300 back. Happy days.0

Good to see people getting their money back. My file is with the adjudicator so I hope I get the rest of my money back too.0

News - Nasir Ilyas has had all assets frozen. Siddique and Cardinalli apparantly working for McIntyre Clark in Manchester. SRA will probably not go after last two because it will be a police matter. Last known is that Wolstenholmes have massive debts over 7m0

The last posting by sangria makes interesting reading. I hope they do go after Siddique and Cardinali as they were the driving force of the operation.0

There have been no new press releases for a while and the only publication following events was the paywalled Crain's Manchester Business. The only other reports we had were re. intervention, nobody seemed willing to investigate the wider issue and the ease with which this can happen all over again.0

Imagine how much money Nasir Ilyaas has cashed in from all these people and then in 09/09 he has resigned himself. Boy, you are a clever sod. Robbed innocent peoples money, then cashed in money from 5 new members. Nasir Ilyaas you got the last laugh.

You are patently a fool.
I don't know who the fool is but the named members so far as I am aware were in fact nothing more than salaried members (like salaried partners) ie not equity sharing. They have lost nothing more than their jobs, reputations and possibly their ability to practice again. They were all young, inexperienced laywyers duped by Ilyas, Cardinali and Siddique.0 -

Collapse of Wolstenholmes Solicitors in Heald Green will cost £10m
Published: 16th July 2010 11:20 The collapse of law firm Wolstenholmes in Heald Green could eventually top £10m according to its administrators - Berry Insolvency Partners.
The intervening solicitor DWF's bill, who has been finishing work and investigating the collapse and affairs could be £7.5m to £10m.
Despite the Solicitors' Regulation Authority recouping £4.5m they will suffer a short fall of some £3m which will be footed by the wider legal market. The company owed further £3.5m to other creditors who are unlikely to receive any payment - which includes its former staff and the bank Lloyds TSB.
The company was closed down last December following a multitude of complaints from former clients and five partners have their practice certificates suspended.
Currently out of these five Nasir Ilyas, Helen Murgatroyd and Bobby Shabbir - do not have current practicing certificates. Bilal Khawaja and former managing partner Imran Hussain have been granted certificates with strict conditions "to protect the interest of clients and the wider public",
A Porsche Cayenne which was finance by Wolstenholmes partnership has not been found yet.
The affairs of the partnership are still under investigation.
Looks like DWF did very well out of it and noticed from another article how their net profits rose by over 50% and staff numbers have also increased dramatically. The work they did for me? - Found my WH file and sent it to my local solicitor. Looking at the SRA shortfall feel lucky to get my money back! The rest of the legal profession picking up the loss which I assume will be passed on to customers.0 -
