Have not posted for quite some time however have been checking every day for updates. Thanks to everyone for their postings. These kept us going.
Good news my daugher and her boyfriend finally bought their first house yesterday. We appointed a new solicitor on the 4th Jan and he started from scratch and completion took place on the 23rd Feb. My daughter has now decided never ever to move again....lol.
We have tried to retrieve the file from DWF, completed their forms twice!!! but still no file. Wonder if it will ever turn up.
As for Mum - I am now booking an appointment at the hairdressers to cover up all the grey hair which has now completely taken over....and then collating all the paperwork/emails for "the complaint" process.
Good luck to everyone else still waiting for resolution.

Hi Well I still await the phone call that I was supposed to get three days ago. As soon as I have those files and the final bill from the solicitor I will nag them into action or see the MP.
I should have said earlier
A BIG THANK YOU TO

Who noticed that files had been left in WS office after the intervention. I rang DWF and told them and then the files I needed were found. I can only imagine that they were amoungst those.0 -

I'm glad I could be of some help. I guess it was pure chance that I was in the neighbourhood that day and saw the files.0 -
Hi, I am new to the site in terms of posting but have monitored since December when I became frustrated with WH poor service (I used them for sale/purchase). Thanks for all the information, it was only through this site that I knew the SRA had intervened. Luckily for me my sale fell through w/c 14th Dec, so I was spared the terrible problems of money being tied up etc. I still am trying to recover my £450 deposit as I did not complete, I have filed with the comp fund but the SRA say I must claim through my credit card company which I have just done - hopefully I will get it back. My reason for posting is that I have just received my files from Gordons LLP and amongst my papers are emails relating to another person (we have same first name, hence the mix up I guess). There is nothing really to note other than they deinstructed WH in early Dec and asked for a refund because of the poor service and there were their mortagage company details (not personal details or acc no's etc). It was relation to a property 14 Badgeney Road.... just thought it might be of interest to the owner in case of a claim for the refund of desposits etc.0

Quiet on here recently! No news from anybody? Still waiting for official reply from SRA on my post completion claim but did phone SRA today.
Apparently they have now received a policy decision that the SRA will handle claims for the HMRC late payment fines, there had been discussion whether this would be a consequential loss claim to the LCS.
This leaves LCS only responsible for distress and inconvenience, anybody have ideas on how much that should be?
I've still not had a fine from the HMRC even though my stamp duty was paid (out of my own pocket) 3 months late so would be interested to hear from anybody on their experience with this.0 -
Hi
We're just about ready to file our complaint now that the house purchase is complete.
Was also wondering if anyone had gone through this stage as yet.
No doubt this will take some time as well. Just hoping that this process wont be as stressful as trying to sort out the Wolstenholmes mess.
Will update as and when we move forward with the complaint so that everyone gets an idea of the process.

Will the fact that WH has gone into administration have any effect on claims to the LCS, or are such claims dealt with purely through insurance?
Also, who now has control of WH's accounting records - the Administrators or DWF, or both? When I met with DWF in early February they told me they were still waiting for access to WH's accounts, however they sent me a document recently (which I need for my claim to the SRA) which would indicate that they now have access.0 -

.
LCS claims are going to be a real murky/grey area. How do you put a value on sleepness nights, relying on a forum to keep informed, anxiety, etc? A job for ClaimsDirect!?:eek:0
