at the time when all the news came about mis sold endowment
my insurance company contacted me with a red alert letter informing me what my short fall would be i contacted my insurance company
sun alliance to inform them that i was unhappy how my policy was performing but because they said i did not use the word 'complain' i did not have a case and that i was now time barred, i contacted the finacial ombusman and they agreed with my insurancde company, i have since written to them again recently to try for a second time to claim but this time used the word complain but they would not entertain me and informed me that the decision they had given me a couple of years ago was final and that i have no claim
should i give up or carry on to fight was is due to me is there any one else i can write too

You have three years from first being notified of a high risk of shortfall. For most people that was between 2001-2004 as the date the clock started ticking. After that three year period is up you are time barred and only a genuine reason for overuling the time bar will be considered.
Also, once you complain, you then have 6 months to appeal to the FOS. If you dont like the adjudicator decision then you can appeal to the ombudsman.
In your case, you have given no reasons why the time bar should be overruled and the FOS have agreed with the insurer (they would have checked it was put in place fairly as well).
You could consider court action but most of these fail (which is why you dont see claims companies going down that route). Apart from that, its the end of the road.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
