Name in paper

I know that my name will be printed in a national and local paper but why is this? I thought that the OR contacts all my creditors as they have a list?

It is so that any one you have forgotten can get in touch with the OR and stake their claim to your estate.

The OR's offices are increasingly not putting the advert in local papers to save them money, so you may be lucky and it will only be printed in the London Gazette.

Its to notify any creditors you might of missed out and to inform anyone who has an interest in your estate. It will never be removed fro the London Gazette, so you will be there for eternity. Fame at last, and not for 15 minutes!

Do u get into trouble if someone you've forgotten about come forward? I stopped paying my mobile contract in January as was advised to do so but didn't include it in my bankruptcy as company that did my soa didn't think it was necessary.

Nope, if the debt was before your BR, then you can include it at a later date should you forget to declare it. Just speak to the OR, it happens a lot.

No you won't get into trouble for forgetting any, the OR understands how stressful it can be on the r un up to BR and things get missed.

Though why not put the phone down?

Dunno,company I used said wasn't necessary but I got letter from a debt collector about it,is only for £52 tho,I'll just say I didn't see it as a creditor if they say anything and that I was so worried and stressed I didn't think properly.

No problem tommus, just tell the OR about it when you have your interview and he will add it to the creditors he has to notify, so you won't get hassled for the money.

I've had my interview but didn't think of it at the time,it's only just come to me now. Will they just add it if the debt company comes forward once my name appears or do I need to call the OR?

If you are getting bothered by them then just email/ring the OR and add it. If they ring you then just give them your BR details and tell them to ring the OR.
