I know there are sites such as musicmagpie. com for selling on music cds and one where you send your old mobiles (envirofone.com) i think but i was wondering if anyone knew of any where they value your old books and you send them on and then they send you a check. if tried searching with the Google but am afraid im coming up blank.
i know people use Amazon but this seem like a bit of a hassle and no one may want your book. do others find it easy to use? make good money.
im clearing out as much space as i can and my spare/junk room will soon be hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet. unfortunatley its like a charity shop in there. stacks of cds, books, dvds and such which are doubt are worth more than 50p - £1 each but as there is a lot of them it occurred to me i could clear them out and make some cash
any thoughts?

Try abebooks.
Sorry can't remember the whole address. You can check if your book is in their list and check the price. Also bookfinder, again can't remember address.I will get back to you if I find it. You could also try antiquarian bookshops in your area. Good luck.0 -
What about green metropolis? not quite what you were asking for but similar0

You could try PlayTrade for some items, free for the initial listing but the charge at the end and you have to deal with your own postage cost etc but may be worth it for some.

Trying to sell them individually you'll be here til Xmas - next year! And still you wont shift all of it. Some people for e.g. just list the whole lot as a single item on eBay (take a photo of your entire CD collection, state how many CDs and itemise some or all of it). Then you just need a big box to send them in.
For the books, same applies, you can list them individually but it'll take a month of Sundays to shift them. I would suggest maybe get in touch with your nearest local auction house and put them in a sale. The down side is - you probably wont get much for them.
It's a trade off between how soon you want them sold against how much you want to make.0 -
There's nowhere really for books. It's a shame as I have over 200 to shift. I am lucky though that I have the room to store them and for that reason I am happy to use Green Metropolis. Every book on there sells for 3.75 and you earn 3.00 of that. As I usually buy in Asda for 3.80ish I am very happy to make 3.00 a book. It is very slow though, I have only sold 6 this year.0
