Yes, but the price went up from £279 to £399 days ago unlike some of the other 'bargains' which only went up the day before they were in the advent sale. It's still £35'ish cheaper than elsewhere on the web. I nearly bought one anyway (had it in the basket). but it's the principle (and I don't really need one), so fingers crossed it will come down in price in the Jan Sales.

Oh and the RRP on the Pentax website is £279, surprise, surprise!

Same here. I found one at Pixmania for £222, so I could not see the big deal in buying from BT at £200, and I emptied my basket again.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Keep in mind the BT deal includes a 64 MB SD card so you'll have to add £10 to £12 to the Pixmania price.

  • Agreed not a fantastic bargain. But a good price for a good camera and a last minute pressie - free next day delivery via City Link, in time for Xmas and if you use linemypocket get an extra 4% off.

    I just bought one.

'For Christmas delivery, please order before 4pm, 22nd December 2004.' - from BTShop website

If you ordered with standard delivery then you'll be very lucky to get it before Christmas. In theory paying the £2 extra for express delivery should get it you for Christmas eve. But I wouldn't hold your breath.

  • BT are currently being investigated by both trading standards and the ASA over this little game, whether or not anything comes of it is another matter ::)

On a personal note I'll never shop at BT shop again >:(

Ordered the Canon camcorder and it was supposedly delivered on the 8th December, but I wasn't even in the house. Have had numerous contacts with BT shop regarding this and still no camcorder. The initial problem was not their fault, but the customer service since then has been dreadful, promises for manager's to call me back, etc. but no calls.

Seems I will have to contact the credit card company and see if they can organise a chargeback. Not the stress free Christmas shopping I was hoping for :'(

Spoke to customer services and they were certain of delivery next day (with or without the £2) - but as with most things there is always a chance it doesn't make it.
  • Just to let you know it turned up this morning at 10am. Impressed!

I have certainly been put off by BT's antics and so haven't ordered anything although I wanted a digital camcorder and camera. Just have to wait for Argos!!! Just hope this forum will point me in the right direction.
