keep having to 'enable network adapter'

to stay online. i can be online on my laptop (broadband connection through a wire no other pcs in the house) for about 5 mins then it goes offline

the only way back on is right click the connection thing bottom right corner then click network centre then enable network adapter. it takes about a minute altogether but its very annoying! it started yesterday and ive unplugged the modem etc

its done it twice typing this message!

sounds like its set to turn off to conserve energy - look into the settings on the card properties and or the settings for your battery - my power saver mode sometimes used to do that until i went into the settings.

ditto it does sound like some energy saving feature

thanks will check that! this laptop is literally falling to bits and we have had charger issues lately so it sounds about right
