A few days ago in Tesco I was walking through the Car Park back to my office when I noticed a trolley at the back of a car with clothing hanging from the hook. No one in any near cars so trolley user had obviously just abandoned after unloading. If they had bothered to push it to the trolley park they would have noticed their clothing on the hook (okay we have all done it)!!! Anyway being a good citizen I took them to customer service.
I seem to be having a year of finding. 1st a £5 note on the floor in work which no one claimed after 6 months so it was mine. Then 3 handbags in 3 separate changing rooms and toilet (on the hooks) and also in Asdas trolley park 2 dvds (again on the hook) and a packet of ham in a trolley at Sainsbury.
So LOOK AFTER YOUR BAGS AND SHOPPING.
Happy Xmas

I found a BIG bag full of Thorntons chocolates in town the other day.
I opened it up and found some kiddies sweets in amonst the goods and KNEW this was my mission to make someones christmas!
I went to Thorntons and explained, giving her my number. When the other assistant told me to take them to the shopping centers security office I clutched the bag possessively and imagined the big, porky security guards eating the booty so I firmly declined.
I then reported it to found property at the local bobbies station and was due the next day to put a small ad in the local paper to see if I could re-unite the sweeties with the rightful owner.
Many congratualed me on my chivalry and sheer willpower as they would have eaten them.
I would NEVER take from a childs mouth!
The next morning my mobile trilled away.
I answered it to a lady who had lost her bag of chocs the day before and after describing every single item in the bag, she was re-united with them a couple of days later.
My reward?
The satisfaction of being genuine, honest and not denying a little boy of his reindeer lollypop and snowman chocolate balls. The big smile on the Mums face as she took the chocs she thought she had lost. Being pleased that I trusted my instincts and picked up that bag I saw.
.... and the lovely box of chocs the lady gave me as a thankyou! ;DWatch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]0 -

Just to say I am one of those people who have stupidly left their handbag on a trolley at Asda. :-/ At the time I had my car keys in my hand so drove home with son in car only to find I couldnt get into the house, had no phone and no way of contacting anybody as no money. God did I panic - I drove all the way back (10 miles) on the offchance someone had found it. Luckily one of the trolley men had handed it in at customer services - I all but kissed them all. I will be forever grateful for honest people as it could so easily have turned out differently. Doesnt bear thinking about
Havent done it since though lol. ~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0 -
Good to know the trolley assistants are honest. I have to admit when I have found things in supermarket trolleys I go straight to customer services just in case.

Cleverest thing I ever did was drive off from toilet stop in Mere (A303, I believe) with my handbag on the roof of the car!
Was picked up by a car behind us who flashed us all the way back to Guildford without me noticing :-[ and phoned me the next day to ask if I'd lost anything! We didn't know them, but they only lived a few miles away from us.
Of course by then I'd cancelled all the credit cards ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
