Hi Karen, Thanks for stopping by.

For me paying off large amounts as soon as I get them is the way to go, because it will get spent and I can't account for it.Felt scared when I paid the Tax Credit off the C.C at the begining of the month, that money is there just in case, as it is with you. Felt good when my statement came and the balance had come down and I know where the money went. Hope it work for you.xx

Spent a lot of time over the weekend shredding papers and I came across a premium bond certificate for £500, bought a few years ago and forgotten about. Bond is now on its way to be cashed in, C.C will be paid as soon as the money arrives. Cried when I found it.When I moved in with OH everything was put in to the loft and I am now in the prosess of sorting. In the bag I was sorting throught were bank statements and the like, old account that need to be closed or addresses changed to my new address. Small step for new weekend is to organise my paperwork.

OH when I was busy shreading was stripping paint off the staircase and it is starting to look fab.The carpet that was on the stairs was a lovely blue patten and was here when OH moved in, the carpet will now be recycled at the allotment as covers for our homemade compost bins. The hallway looks so much brighter, lots of hard work ahead but it will be worth it.

    Buy for now.x

It's been a bit of a bad week money wise, the clutch on my car went gratefull that I was in works carpark and not on my way down the M4.After paying out for a new clutch, paying the breakdown company to fetch my car home and putting petrol in a borrowed car my finances are looking very sad. Breakdown cover will have to be changed so as I don't end up paying to get the car home again.

The week has also been a bit of a wake up call for OH and myself. It's all very well paying off my debt but we need to save also for car repairs and house repairs. We are going to need a new boiler in the very near future ours is on it's last legs, hopefully iot will last the winter.

We have decided to open two joint Building Society Accounts, one for small repairs and the ohter will be our boiler fund. Have counted our change jar and £2.00 collection and we have £100 so a good start.

Haven't got around to sorting my paperwork yet, I wil make a start when OH is watching the darts final tonight.

    xx

sorry you had an expensive way to make yourself remember the car fund and house fund, i think most of us find out that way. Well done for finding the premium bond bet you're kicking yourself. Sounds like you didn't have to add to your debt to fund everything but if you did have to it was essential and you've started saving for things now.
good luck with the paper sorting hope you find another premium bond :)

    Hi Lemon Tree.

Money to repair car came from grocery budget and debt money I put into a separate account each money when I get paid, to pay when the statements arrive. Tax Credit will now go towards usual debt payments and I was under on my grocery budget so no over payment to C.C.

Building Society account open, will save a little bit each money towards cars and house each month.

Have made one extra payment to C.C, Quidco payout today of £5.44, on it way to the C.C.

    Hi,
I find Amazon easy to use, Ebay ia a bit , I need to read the Ebay thread as I just don't know where to start.

Today I have to post another item that sold on Amazon. This afternoon will be spent our allotment, we have had the allotment over a year.We have a very large plot and half of it is not used at the moment and is over grown again.Plan is to start clearing bottom half and replan the lay out, this is going to take a few week to acheive, hope the weather stays fine.
The allotment is a big part of my fugal living journey.

    Back later.x

i've had my name down for a plot for over a year now and haven't even had confirmation of them putting me on the list, we have a little veggie plot in the garden and get a little bit from it but not enought.
I think i'll have to have a look at Amazon and see how i get on, i feel i need to do something as i'm just treading water (ok i'm not really but i just feel that i am)
