Hi, i have just printed off the BR form ready to take to court tommorow morning and have a couple of questions.
1. Is it right that there is 35 pages!!... It took me a long time to complete online but didnt realise how many pages would be printed off
2. When i completed printing, the website said i need 3 copies of all the signed pages, to save time browsing through looking pages to sign and double check i havent missed any, could someone clarify how many pages there is to sign, i have had a quick browse and i noticed one at the end of printing that needs to be signed.

Hi,
Dont qoute me on this...but I think that the papers have to be signed in front of somebody (court clerk or somebody like that)when you go to the court.
There are alot of pages (I havnt counted yet)
I am a little further back than you & have only finalised my papers in readyness of an appointment.
Hope thats of some help0 -
Yep - sign it at court in front of the clerk. But call your court first and ask them how many copies you need. Some will copy them for you, some do not want 3 copies etc, so save yourself some time and paper possibly and ring them first!0

Hi,
Phew! I was officially made bankrupt this morning at 9.50 am!!!! Now at 9.40 pm, It's sinking in and I think the stress is abating....
Re the forms, there are 35 pages in total; you sign the Second page AND section twelve near the end. You do need Three copies, my court were charging 50p per sheet to photo copy!!!! (heard a solicitor being told £102.50 for some forms he'd forgot to copy - he rang for a junior to bring over copies... (P*at!)
When you get to court (worrying like mad that you've filled them in wrong and you will be put up against a wall and SHOT!) In my case the extremely nice and un-judgemental court clerk will check the forms and if any further info is needed will write it in. She added all my previous addresses (didn't know they were needed on the front page) without any hassle.
Just to add, I was terrified this morning, I can't explain how wonderful these people have been.
Step one - Pay Plan - Great
Step two - The bankruptcy advice service - Fantastic (£25.00)
Court – Amazing – didn’t even have to face the judge!!!!
OR - A really nice person – not scary.
I’ve read these forums a few times and I am surprised by how many judgemental and condemning people there are on here. Yes we stuff up, yes we have no choice but to go for bankruptcy, yes we feel really bad about it. But please remember there are people out there that are filing for bankruptcy that have tried for years to get out of the credit card trap, paid thousands of pounds in interest and still have 150 years to go!
I work over 50 hours a week and when my partner got made redundant we just hit the wall. So to all you people that condemn us, look at the bigger picture please.
For those of you having to face bankruptcy – It’s not as scary as it first seems, Jo public might judge you, but the people that matter are professional and have empathy, so be brave, face it and let the stress reduce!
I have twelve months of bankruptcy ahead, six years on my file – not that it mattersm, as hell would freeze over before I asked for credit again J
Basically this morning I got my life back – 40 next year – I’ll be fit and happy and that’s a promise J
Sorry to go on but needed to answer the original question and offload a bit.
Lots of hugs to all you debt free wannabees from a very relieved Exuma (PS check out Exuma Islands – the most perfect place in the world – one day I will go back J )

Hi Guys,
Thank you for your comments meant a lot to read them x J x
Bit of an update....
Well it's now day fifteen; phone is starting to quieten down now and no more letters apart from requests to set up new direct debits for utilities etc.
Opened a new account with the Coop BEFORE 'Canada' day (1st July is Canada day so we call it that as easier than saying Bankruptcy, plus no one has a clue what you're on about).
Bankruptcy Advice Service said it was fine to do this. Told OR and he was fine about it too. Rang Coop after the deed was done and they were fine too.
NB - Cashminder account - basic BA, it is a debit card, no OD facilities (yey), full internet access, UK call centre which answers straight away without twenty million options to go through and nice friendly competent staff... Wish I switched years ago!!!! Can you tell I like the Coop
Anyway, amazing the response from creditors once you tell them you've gone BR. All they want is the court number and Isolv ref plus date. Then all contact ceases - Bliss! One lovely lady from a collections team ended the call by telling me how sorry she was I had to go through the BR and that she sincerely meant it (filled up on that one).
There is a backlog for the OR to interview me fully - three weeks.
So that should be next week.
Told I can have a car for work as I have to use it in my job. My car is over the £2000.00 limit (Auto trader value - £3500.00, O R valuation - £2850.00... asked me if someone could 'buy' the £850.00 share for me - unfortunately not as am little orphan Annie and don't want to put my friends in that position, so car has to go L
However…………….. Now this amazed me and caused me to fill up again :-/
When I find a car (value £2k) ‘they’ will meet me at point of purchase, pay for said car and take mine away! WOW, how accommodating is that?!!
They do not want me to be without a car for work at all (I do have to use my car for work so maybe that is why – don’t know).
House…..
Got a valuation prior to ‘Canada’ day. Due to market it’s in negative equity, so don’t have to sell it. Get the option to ‘buy’ back the OR’s interest in it for £1.00 as long as we continue to pay the mortgage. Mortgage company have agreed in principal to change it over to interest only for as long as needed or permanently - our choice. This will save £200.00 per month. Hopefully will have enough to pay all bills and mortgage from my wage plus food etc. No holiday or treats for at least a year but not had any since 2007 so another year won’t hurt. (You can thank me for the heat wave – upstairs is being nice to me for a chance and making the garden - costa del back garden this year – LOL J )
Partner still unemployed, no work out there L He got refused JSA on account of my income – hmmm not a bad wage but not huge at £25k PA and hard for two to survive on with a mortgage and second mortgage! No reduction in council tax, no tax credits either. So all in all when you work hard – forty eight years of working between us, partner self employed for last six years, paid voluntary NI contributions which FYI does not cover you for contribution based JSA! Means zip when you genuinely need some support. Very angry about this but already going on too long as per. Vented at MP….
Will update once had full interview with OR.
For anyone considering BR, PLEASE do not be scared it really is not as bad as you think it will be.
Hugs to all

We had already signed ours when we went, the lady who was dealing with us said... Oh good you have already signed.... so it was not a problem.
We took 3 copies, two of which they keep one is your copy. I guess for a bit of paper its just best to have everything they request, you dont want any problems on that day.

Congratulations Dave, the first step in your new life :rotfl:
Update...
Well got my 'new' car today....
I got in a little bit of bother, well not really but did feel like I was back at school getting it wrong.
I mistakenly thought that I had to find another car for the said £2k straight away, off I went to find one that was reliable and that I liked. Found it, rang up to be told 'I'd jumped the gun'. I was meant to wait until I'd had my O.R interview (which has still not happened, now over four weeks). Anyway I suitably grovelled and was excused.
The man came this morning, I signed two forms, he handed me an envelope with £2k cash and took my lovely car away. Tried not to get too upset.
So after a few hours feeling like my arm had been chopped off! I was able to pick up 'new' car. Phew, am mobile again! It's a lot older but nice and completely mine, no finance, nothing, owned outright. Which is really bizzare. I've gone B and am 'given' a car FOC! Still shaking my head at that one.
Oh and good news, the other half started a new job today, only a three month trial, c**p pay and massive targets but who cares, he has an income :T
Keep us posted on your experiences.
