I can't believe it but I have managed to spot a slightly better deal than the Massive Tesco points loophole. Spend £27, get 6 bottles of wine & £36 Tesco Rewards deal.

It works in exactly the same way for the bottles of Marques de Monistrol Vintage Cava Brut and the Marques de Monistrol Vintage Cava Rose (links are to the online wine store for information only as the offer is not online).

These are the bottles you are looking for
IDShot_126x150.jpgbanner_2.jpgIDShot_126x150.jpg

The bottles cost £10.99 each in store and have 300 points per bottle and the 25% discount so the maths work out as follows: -
6 x £10.99 = £65.94
Less 25% -£16.49
Total = £49.45

Points
6 x 300 = 1800
+ std pts + 49
Total pts = 1849
Deals x 4 = 7396 (Worth £73.96)

:beer::beer::beer:

Edit: Sorry but in my excitement to post this deal I forgot to list 2 other wines with 100 extra clubcard points per bottle: -
Tesco Finest Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOC 75cl @ £6.99 and Tesco Finest Nero D'Avola, IGT Sicilia 75cl @ £5.99
IDShot_126x150.jpgIDShot_126x150.jpg

These are not quite as good a deal but might still be worthwhile.

Tesco Finest Nero D'Avola 6 x £5.99
6 x £5.99 = £35.94
Less 25% -£8.99
Total = £26.95

Points
6 x 100 = 600
+ std pts + 26
Total pts = 626
Deals x 4 = 2504 (Worth £25.04)

Tesco Finest Barbera d'Asti Superiore
6 x £6.99 = £41.94
Less 25% -£10.49
Total = £31.45

Points
6 x 100 = 600
+ std pts + 26
Total pts = 626
Deals x 4 = 2504 (Worth £25.04)

    My immediate reaction was 'great' but

    I'd think carefully on this because the only thing I'd say is that the wine is no way worth £10.99 a bottle, not even the £49.45 for six so you really need to be up for the Tesco deals because the wine is worth £5.99 a bottle, tops. And usually widely available at that price.

    You are without doubt being overcharged for the wine. As long as people recognise that, carry on!

    I agree that it is over priced particularly as it is available on-line at Tesco Wine store for £6.64 per bottle but it is a great deal if you can use the x4 clubcard deals.

    So, in terms of "price adjusted value" and a like for like comparison.. :)

    The torres wine in the other thread is 4.26 on the wine store...so for £53 on that deal you get, £51 "real" worth of wine. Based on the £6.64 valuation, with the deal above, you get £40 "real" worth for £50.

    Just food, or is that drink? :), for thought.

    Excellent, I managed to get another 6 bottles of the Marques de Monistrol Vintage Cava today. :beer:

    No sign of the Torres but I am going to try again tomorrow.

    Proportionately speaking, the Tesco Olive Spread at £1.24 with 50 extra points is the best deal and there's no requirement to get 6 or more etc. Not great for drinking/getting drunk on, though, lol.

    HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

    I'm a bit confused by the discount and points on offer for the Marques sparkling wine. I need some bottles of sparkling wine for my wedding so would happy to get this now to get the bonus points for wine in a few months' time. But on Tesco Wine by the Case it is £6.64 per bottle, and on Tesco Groceries it is priced £10.99 but with 300 bonus points. If you buy it at Tesco Groceries is it later in the process discounted to the £6.64 price or if you buy at Tesco Wine will you get the bonus points when buying a case of 6?????????

    :confused:

    The buy 6 bottles and save 25% has finished now (and is only save 5% now).

    TBH this Cava wasn't very good, I only bought 2 bottles to accompany the quite respectable Torres Vina Sol. In Short, look for a different Sparkling Wine.

    As far as I was aware the points were only on in store purchases and not Wine Club (by the case)

    But Like I say, Look for a different Sparkling Wine. Though Torres Vina Sol is good.

    I went into Tesco's on Monday and saw this wine priced at 10.99 with 300 points per bottle. I brought 6 and they went through the checkout at 5.49 per bottle with 5 points. I complained to Customer Services about the points not being right and they credited my account with 1800 points (on top of the 30 I already had been given). They wouldn't let me take anymore (i need points to pay for my holiday ferry!) so i rang a friend to go to another store. they had the wine priced at 5.49 on the shelf so she went to Customer Services to complain that she had come in especially for the offer which was due to end until Tuesday and could she still have the 300 points, it was agreed by the Manager so she then went and brought 12 bottles. The Customer Services clerk was not happy at having to credit 3600 points but hey, ferry here i come..................... if i can still stand after all that wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
