string quartet to play in ayrshire

Options
Is anyone aware of a cheap/reasonable priced strings group who will play in ayrshire. The catch is the cost as well as the type of sons - we want up to date songs played on the strings. We are not bothered if the group is young or old ie school/uni group (just want extra cash) or old (done it for years). doesnt need to be 4 people.
thanks

There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle, you know!

I play in a string quartet in Ayrshire, (we're old and have been doing it for years!) but the main problem you may have with the repertoire you want is that not many 'up to date' tunes have been arranged for quartets or indeed are suitable for a quartet's sound. But we're good!

You can google 'tonality' if you want more info.

I got married in Ayshire a few years ago and my dad organsised a string quartet to play - he contacted the RSAMD in Glasgow and they sent a group down. They were amazing, it was lovely.

From memory I think it only cost £150/200 for a couple of hours.

They played classical music though, not contemporary. It was really beautiful and everyone commented on what a nice atmosphere they created.
