There were queues at sainsbury's yesterday up until 11am, I got there at 11.30 and they had sold out, walked past Tesco's and they had rows of them at a £1 cheaper than Sainsbury's!

Only if you buy another top 20 game - unless they have decided to change their offer.
They were the only store I could find yesterday who had any stock - then we realised why.
Their price was £40 unless you bought another game.
We got one eventually from Sainsburys at £26 - did phone first and lovely sa said they had just received another delivery:D

I went back to Mr T later to get petrol and a few bits ( as you do;)) and saw their game shelf cleared..... assumed some people must have been pretty desperate to pay £40, or buy an extra game.
Maybe they cleared the shelves while they rethought their offer

    Car Insurance Carver!
Yeah I bought PES 2010 (even though I'm a FIFA lad) from Tesco just so I could get MW2 for £25 considering Sainsburys was sold out. MW2 was and is still sealed but PES wasn't. Hopefully if I can get it cheaper somewhere else, they will give me my money back.

Also found it very strange how FIFA had magically slipped out of their Top 20 overnight as I would have had that instead of PES :)
English by birth. GEORDIE by the grace of God.
  • Just got a copy this eve from Sainsburys Dundee, and Morrisons are getting another delivery tomorrow lunchtime according to one of their customer service staff - hope that helps someone :) (£26 sains and £25.99 Morr)
  • Morrisons have the same deal going as Tescos as you have to buy another game to get Modern Warfare 2 at the discounted price

No, it's that price on it's own without buying anything else.

£22 if you happen to work there!:T

I think you will find that Tesco do not have to refund on any games, dvds and cds etc.
I normally do not have a problem if the item is still fully sealed in the cellophane wrapper, BUT....
I have been told at least twice recently that they are under no legal obligation to swap or refund on any of these items - unless they are faulty.
I think the big blue board behind CS desk states this.

What your chances are of getting your £ back on an item which isn't sealed (even though that was how you bought it).....well, let us know if you manage this

If I am wrong about this, no doubt someone will be along soon to correct me ;)
  • Does anyone know the best place/price for the PC Version, please?
  • Got mine at Asda for £32 and happy with that price. Went to Castlepoint Bournemouth at just gone 12am and the que was to sa ythe least massive. I was lucky as i pre ordered it and was in and out in 10 mins. they only had 300 copies of it so no doubt there was some who went home with out it.

Looks like we may get a third outgoing if the story line is anything to go by.

I did the same, and also had it pr-ordered at GAME at Castlepoint. GAME were offereing MW2 at over half price (£25) if you traded in a selection of games including COD4:MW. I took my copy of COD4 along and got to the front of the queue only to be told that it was an American version and couldn't legally be traded in, so they demanded £45.

Fortunately I had some friends in ASDA next door and got them to buy me MW2 for £32, which I was happy with to get the game and home the same night it was released. :j

Unfortunately, just 1 day after MW2's release, the ENTIRE online multiplayer (for PS3) has fallen over despite the game being patched to ver. 1.02. XBox doesn't seem to be affected as the servers are looked after by Microsoft but the PS3 ones are "third party" - how is this acceptable after such hype, length of time to develop (over 2 years) and expense??????
  • Just been to Sainsbury in Redditch and they have Call of Duty in stock for Playstation 3 only.
