Hi i've printed out a load of size A4 sheets advertising myself as a leaflet distributor and delivered them to all the local shops (about 50 in all -felt alot more) don't know why but i felt nervous,on a 3 day week at the moment so looking to make a bit of money. I was thinking of contacting local businesses to see if i could print out sheets advertising their business and delivering them locally-it wouldn't be glossy or anything just A4 which would keep the cost down-if i did do this how much should i charge per sheet-(ink, paper) perhaps it's a crap idea, but prepared to give anything ago.

sounds ok in theory but how would you reproduce the shops logo and not have copy right issues . if this is what you want to do why not try your local job centre mine is advertising for leaflet distributors and mystery shoppers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. - I was thinking more on the lines of small businesses say a local gardener, or plumber, electrician etc , i would just print the name of the business, what they could do and the price and contact number

 GARDEN SERVICE
 £7.00 PER HOUR
 TEL 09876 974567
it would be bigger and bolder with colours0

dont think he would need to worry about copyright if he has the permission from the shops he would be delivering for.
have you tried something like vista print? buy off there then add some money on top for distribution etc..0

Personally when I get a leaflet like that through the door it goes straight in bin. Looks cheap and nasty. Can't imagine these people get much trade from them.
Think you would be better to deliver leaflets already printed by others. Try all the takeaways and supermarkets- morrisons, tesco, somerfield and co-op always get local leaflet deliverers round my way to drop for them.0

So this was demonstrating the quality of your service as far as the leaflet production is concerned. Presumably they had a fair bit of colour on them.
Did they just advertise you as a distributor or did they also mention production of leaflets?
How much did those 50 copies cost you, do you think?0

There is not much money to be made out of this
My brother does this for a living as a side line to his other business as a EA. He pays a local printer to do leaflets and design them in house. He undercuts some other businesses but the reason he can do this is he pays peanuts for people to delivery them0
