Yes I know this is the time - the time when mummy said "You'll regret that when you're older"
Yes Mummy, you win, it will look pants in a strapless dress!
I have a leopard on my shoulder - a very cute baby leopard falling asleep in a branch.
Not the most ideal thing to match with the many beautiful dresses I've been browsing at.
So before I go tooooo far and fall in love with something backless or strappy, whats the chances of a decent coverup job on a tattoo as big as my hand?
Or am I looking at dresses with high back and sleeves?
I've tried to cover it with scar makeup before for a posh do I went to. Worked well but the dress showed half the tat, and where the edge of the dress was wore off the make up. Not only could you see the tat then but it stained the dress.
How good is laser tattoo removal these days? Does it leave a scar? (Do I want to get rid of him? he's been there since I was 18!)
Any ideas, thoughts, opinions?
Feel free to tell my Mummy was right, dagnabit!

"I know that Prince Charming doesn’t come save me, we save each other and fight back to back against all comers that’s what marriage is to me. Nothing passive, no being carried off on a white steed, give me my own damn horse and lets ride into the sunset side by side." - Laurell K. Hamilton.

Fab post....i will be watching this one closely...i too have a tattoo on my shoulder...one at the bottom of my neck...and one on each wrists...lol
i dearly wish i would of listened when i was told i would regret them lolHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0 -
Laser removal is going to be expensive, painful, long and it'll still leave a mark!
If the dermablend makeup hasn't worked, then my only suggestion would be sod the tattoo and get the dress that you really want, be it strapless or not.
I think you're more likely to regret wearing a dress that perhaps you don't love completely than having your tattoo on show - plus if you have a veil or something, that might help to cover it up. What about a strapless dress with a bolero or something?0 -
You can always get a photoshop whizz to airbrush the tatt out of any official photos.0

As i have very long hair...
i am having it down and curly which eliminates the below neck tatoo...
which i might add is of my initials! lol how convienient ay!! lol
and im guessing as i will be holding my flowers you will hardly see the insides of my wrists...
theres just the dreaded shoulder one now...and of all things...its a pretty little fairy...lol
why dont you try having a stole thing to go over your shoulders...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0 -
lol, mums arent right about these things!!! hehe
I have 5 tattoos, 4 wont be on show but 1 is in between my shoulder blades, my hair is fairly long but I will also have a veil on that will cover it. How many of your photos are you planning on having with your back in anyway?
MAC do a cover up which is supposed to be good.
My sister is my BM and she has about 6 I think? all on her arms, she has said she is going to cover them up too so I will let you know how she gets on0 -

also have you spoken to your doctor. suffers of vitiligo ( where the skin loses it's pigment) can get camouflage makeup matched to their skin tone. perhaps you could get similar or buy it from a company online. it must be good as an american anchor uses it while on air as some of his face is turning white. i think his name is lee thomas and he has his own site where he recommends the make up he uses. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-09

I have three tattoos and two would normally be covered by clothing, one perhaps not. The tops of the sheer sleeves of my dress were ruched, which made an opaque covering - job done. I was prepared to stick it in place with lingerie tape if necessary....
Anyway, I'd consider a little jacket, and then after the formal part you can take it off if you want. Or if your dress won't be touching the actual tattoo then try something like Dermablend.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
