Seeds/nuts/dried fruit in bulk?

Don't those healthy things from Holland and Barrett seem expensive?

I'm sure the people who make those health food bars won't pay the same price in tonnes for seeds and bits that we pay for in a bag of trail mix.

Where can I buy such health foods in bulk?

p.s
It's easy to find sugary, fatty, salty food cheap because:

- those ingredients are natural preservatives,
- they make their money back because it doesn't contain the nutrients your body needs, so the body gets hungry quickly again to try to find those nutrients it thought it was getting at the mouth stage but didn't deliver when it got to the stomach. In short - it's a con.
Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker

I think that there can be a problem buying and storing nuts in bulk because nuts contain oil and can go rancid quite quickly if not stored correctly. I thought that was one of the things that was not good to buy in bulk. I also think that quality can be an issue here.

I think dried fruit if kept dry will keep for quite a while. I am not sure about seeds. Also dried fruit is, on the whole, slightly cheaper in the supermarket than in Makro.

You may be able to make a deal with your local whole food store.

If you can find some like-minded friends, you can buy direct from Suma. They send out a catalogue 6 times a year. I'm not sure exactly about the current minimum order, but I think £300-ish, so you do need to find a few people to share with you.
