Looks like p&p is £2.75
Can you order 2 copies and get free delivery?0 -
Yes you will qualify for free delivery with two issues.
There is another consideration. If you order direct from the publisher you can be "Guaranteed first edition of the
children's edition only." It will cost you £16.99 (dunno about delivery costs). Don't ask me what a first edition could be worth in the future,,,but they usually do go for a profit later. Only problem I can see is that there maybe so many first editions that it will take a long time before making a profit.

Anyway - you pays your money and takes your choice0 -
I considered getting Order of the Phoenix on Pre-Order for £16.99 but didn't. As it turned out went into Asda on release day and they had stacks at £6.99. Its worth waiting to see if the supermarkets start doing preorders. They will be cheaper.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

If you purchase the weekend of release you should get first edition first printing anyway. The chances of not enough being printed are pratically non-existant given the marketing, mid-night release & general hype.
I have been collecting Signed Rowling first editions for a couple of years. The later (i.e last 3 books) first editions are so plentiful they are are not valued as collectable and actually trade for less then new price in many cases. If you come across a first edition any printing of the first 2 books though, you are in the money! There was only a print run of 500 first edition first printing of Phlisophers Stone, most of which went to schools & libaries & have a very diffrent drawing of Dumbledore on the back to the current one! These trade for between £10K - £30K.
If you get the opportunity to buy a signed copy either insist on a refund period & get the signature authenticated (do this yourself, don't accept the sellers certificate of authenticity) as there are literally hundreds of very good fakes on the market, or ask for the reciept showing the date & time of the purchase if it is purported to be a bookshop signing.
If you are lucky enough to come across J K Rowling doing a bookshop signing it is worth standing in line for. Try to get a photo of yourself with her at the signing & at the very least keep the timed & dated reciept as proof. Signed first editions (any printing but obviously the first printing is best) carry the greatest value. Later signed editions currently have a very low value, although this wil hopefully rise in tiem as the fakes are weeded out. At the release of Order of the Phoenix J K Rowling said she wasn't doing any signings but turned up at an Edinburgh Waterstones on the night & signed for several hours, then at a central London Waterstones the following week so it is worth keeping your eyes peeled, especially if you live in Scotland!

I second the comments about supermarkets.
They all had a ton last time offering between 50% (asda and tesco) and 30% (sainsbury and morrison) off.
They were all first editions - they know these will sell like hot cakes so have a first print run of millions.
HP 1st's are not worth much but as said the signed ones and proof copies with any printing/spelling errors fetch a premium.0
