Mortgage costs and arrangements

Hi,
Just wondering if this is normal - I have been granted a mortgage from woolwih- they are charging 1500 for the arrangement fee and a further 500 for the survey- is it normal to charge the applicant for their survey?
Thanks

Yes it is - what type of survey are you getting for your £500?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

There are different levels of survey, some of which may be more applicable depending on the property you are intending to purchase.0 -
Hi,
I didn't expect someone to pay the fee for me- I just assumed that it would all come under the fee quoted to you oroginally.
I didn't know I would offend anyone by asking a simple query on the breakdown of a charge.
And to answer the first question- yes- I do hate charges - bank charges that have been found to be unlawful.
How's about Conrad & Opinions4U- if you have nothing good to say don;t share it
Thanks for the others for their helpful comments

Arrangement fees dont include surveys, as different people want different surveys ..... valuation suvey, homebuyers or building/structural survey which all vary in cost. Therefore the arrangement fee couldnt include a survey fee - and i've also known it to be "normal" for the applicant to be charged a survey fee.
Hope your mortgage application goes ok !0 -

Do you realise that you will also have to pay the lender's legal costs on top of these fees?
Did they tell you that the £1,500 doesn't cover the interest?
These things aren't "good" but they are fact.
If you don't like answers that draw your attention to reality, don't post.0 -
I think you will aslo find I didn't ask for the full breakdown on the costs of a house- but if you want to rant for longer than do.
God you are an angry little man- I think you shoudl spend your time more constructively than posting rants on forums.
cheers- I won't be checking up on your reply- but enjoy posting if it gets somethign off your chest.
I've reported your behaviour.0 -

So who should bear the cost of providing services to people who go overdrawn?
Would you prefer to pay a fixed monthly account fee or have free banking?0 -

ChargeHater, you are the one ranting. Obviously buying a property is a stressful time, but taking your stress out on people who are giving you information is a waste of time. There's absolutely nothing in opinions4u's post which is offensive or abusive - your own comments are closer to being offensive.0 -
Hi Thrugelmir,
An unlawful amount that does not reflect the amount the overdraft costs is what i haeva rpblem with - and what the owner of this site is lobbying against.
I have no problem with charges which are fair and reflect the true cost of services.
Thanks
