    Have spoken the lender. I forgot that we have ERC to clear the mortgage (about £2000) and thinking about it more, it was mentioned when I applied on the phone.

    This is why the searches were undertaken as it will be higher mortgage. Did not think of that at the time of writing!

    Therefore, what are your views with regards to the original message.

    Well I don't understand why you're wanting to borrow the same amount but pay £2000 + new fees to do so.
