plz someone help i purchased a coat with my credit card (under £100) it later developed a fault so i took it back, as i no longer have the credit card they said i would have to have gift vouchers or take something of the same value..i didn't want anything from there as the goods were not up to a good standard and neither was the service so i took the coat and left, surely i'm entitled to my money back as i no longer have the card (Bonmarche Greenock) name and shame

Hi They are supposed to put it back on your card, and then you get in touch with the bank and they pay you. Very inconvenient I know, but thats how it is supposed to be paid. Annie0

For what it is worth, I have had this problem a couple of times when returning something, I no longer used the original credit card. I just asked them to credit the card I was using at the present time and it was done without any problem. I may be wrong but to my mind, if you have paid the original card surely it should make no difference to them how the money is paid to you. Just a thought.0 -
after many e-mails to the company they agreed i could have cash back as i had the receipt and didn't have the cc anymore, they call it gesture of good will, i'd call it "I'TS MY FLIPPIN MONEY GIVE IT BACK" so i printed off the email and i shall be taking my purchase back 2morrow...Hoo Blooming Rayon this day 23/05/1430

My 2p worth
Sorry Tina68 but I think you are wrong.
How long ago did you buy the coat and why do you no longer have the card linked to the purchase?
From the shop's point of view they are being trained for instances like this because it could be construed as money laundering!! (buy coat from shop, take it back to shop wanting refund, shop decline and say it has to be credit note, you kick up a fuss and eventually they agree to refund or credit a different card and hey presto out at the other end is clean money)
Tina I'm not saying you are a money launderer of any kind just letting you know that this is one of the ways it happens.0 -
Hiya ejones999
the coat came apart and began to frey at the seems of the pocket i'd had it less than a month and as i worked there a couple of years ago as an !!!!!! manager i new what they were capable of doing as "gestures of goodwill" only i used my maiden name on my email sign off...no i'm not a money launderer but i know where your coming from and besides it was only £35.00on this day 23/05/1430

How did it go when you went into the shop? They give you the money easy enough?
I can see both sides here but the coat really shouldnt have been faulty and for that they should give money back - for good customer service at least!Weight Loss - 102lb0
