Can someone explain to me what benchmark means, also with standard life
funds they have crowns 3 being best does this give some indication of a
fund that could give better growth, also do you think the fund value represents a good indiction of weather the funds are any good or not.
thanks ocean

A benchmark is usually the index that a fund's performance is measured against. Effectively the over (or under) performance is what is supposed to justify the choice of active management verses trackers.I am a Chartered Financial Planner
