Totally free Blockbuster rentals

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this before but Blockbuster are offering a unlimited free rentals through their website delivery service. You compile a list of your favorite's online and they send you 3 at a time, and when you send these back (postage paid) you get the next 3 on your list sent to you! It is usually £13.99 a month, however if you quote promotion code 'ILSF410' you get the first month free after which you can cancel. Obviously you are not going to copy or rip the dvd's that you are sent as this would be very naughty.

Their online rental service is terrible. I had a list of 30 dvds in my queue (a mixture of old and new releases) and for a period of 1 week they were unable to send me anything. I cancelled after 2 weeks.

My friend signed up and experienced the same.

I have done this offer and it was REALLY easy to cancel. Just did it online.

I have to agree with the previous poster though, i NEVER ONCE got my number 1, 2 or 3 DVD's.

It was so disappointing. We even ended up getting 'i robot' from the video shop because we got fed up of waiting.

On a positive note though, turnaround was the quickest i have experienced.

You don't always get your top choice film, but the benefits well outweigh it. E.g. you get all the postage paid for + it would save you probbaly £2 or £3 for every film you rent. Its worth a go I reckon, and its very easy to cancel, they don't 'tie you up' when you want to cancel it. I wonder if you can rent video games aswell?

So far I've rented from Blockbuster (30 day trial) and Lovefilm (44 day trial) and Blockbuster was by far the best.  You're given an extra 7 or 14 days AFTER your trial (not sure which it is) to return any DVDs that you still have where others say you need to return your DVDs before you can stop the subscription or they'll charge you - basically cutting a week off your trial unless you're risky.  Also Blockbuster were really fast compared to Lovefilm.  Oh well... next is Tesco DVD rentals, then Movieselect, then screenselect.......etc etc etc..

Don't forget there are rpoints links for the majority of the DVD rental sites.. I've tried movietrak (who suck) and dvds365.com (who have a huge library but questionable availability of rarer titles, though in fairness this sees to be a recurring theme. Turnaround is going to be rubbish during xmas though so if you were to be using these services to copy the discs (which I'm sure you're not) then I'd recommend waiting until the postal service speeds up after the festive period!

Oh, and there are referral schemes for places like dvds365 so be sure to get someone's referral link (eg mine:) if you're signing up and don't already have one!
