Tesco Vouchers

My sister has given me a pile of Tesco vouchers (still in date) to the value of £8. She doesn't have a store near to home but often gets petrol etc when she's in this area. She sent me the vouchers - so I thought yippee, I can get money off my shopping! Nope - they have a different name on the vouchers (hers) to the clubcard (mine) so no can do. They wouldn't take the money off if you paid in cash either as you need to produce your club card etc etc. Is there a way round this?

If you just want to use the vouchers against your shop, you should be able to. Most checkout people at Tesco don't check the names on the vouchers (tip: go for a young bloke cashier, they're less likely to notice/care)

Also, if you have one of those Clubcard keyfob thingies, they don't have a name on them, so they can't complain they're not your vouchers

Hi - A friend of mine had the same problem and what she did was she went into Tesco and bought some shopping - used the vouchers for money off but paid cash and didnt use her club card - said she had forgotten it. She kept the receipt and the next time she was in Tesco she went to customer services and had the points from the receipt added onto her tesco clubcard - no one was any the wiser. Hope this helps :jRemember is nice to be important but more important to be nice0 -
It depends on the cashier. They aren't supposed to accept vouchers without a clubcard, so you're friend got a cashier that didn't care. But some cashiers will stick to the rules and only take off vouchers if a clubcard is present, and they will check the name. Personally, I don't check even though I'm supposed to. And I'll let people use vouchers without their clubcard.
The reasoning is partly because some people live in shared houses or forget to change their address for examples, and other people get their vouchers. So you have to present a clubcard with the same name on, if I'm making sense. Best to pay by cash and use your clubcard keyring.

In the past I have always used hubby's vouchers as he has a credit card with tesco and I only have a clubcard. Didnt have a problem until I used one store and SA kept staring at the vouchers. After calling Customer Services they were accepted as our surname was the same but they told me that this was a one off - vouchers must match clubcard.0

You have been unlucky. I gave in a sainsburys voucher once (by mistake *ahem*) and they took it tesco Oxford.
Keep hold of those vouchers and go back next week.
Thinking about it - my husband once used my Credit Card at Tesco (I was with him!) - it clearly says MRS J xxxxxxxxxx but they didn't even look as he typed in my PIN code.

....So what deals/deal-tokens can i get/use when i send in the tesco vouchers that my mum has get me(same address, different second name)?? Ideally i would like airmiles, is it possibile to convert her vouchers into airmiles on my airmiles account? Also one of the vouchers she gave me is missing the barcode as it has been riped off. Is there anything we can do? We have the issue date and the other vouchers sent out with is barcodes. Any help with my questions would be realy great. Also 2more for the yesco experts :-) : How/where do i recycle old mobile phones to tescos to get clubcard points & also how do i go about sending in her vouchers when i have the old ones(the ones without the online code) & new vouchers together???
Thanks all.0 -
