70th Birthday Party Ideas

Hi All

My Dad turns 70 next year and he has given us a wish list for his party. He wants to turn the clock back to 1958 when he and his best mates (who he is still friends with) were 18. He used to go to dances at the Imperial Paper Mill (IPM) in Gravesend and wants us to decorate the venue in the this style.

From what I can gather it would be quite Grease esque in time and style and we have hired a large hall so that is sorted. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas of how I can access pictures or archives of that particular venue so we can make it authentic? Ive tried googling and for images in particular but no luck so far.

Any ideas of food and decorations would be most appreciated!

He is a one in a million Dad (as I am sure we all think our Dads are) and he has never ever wanted a party of any sort but after our wedding last month (we had a 1945-1955 'Swing' music style theme) he has really got into the idea.
