Right guys, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth my OH and I have a court date in Banbury of the 17th July and are now clawing our way thru the forms. Our SOA leaves us with around £130 disposable income (we're still fine tuning it) but my biggest question is whether we will get an IPA/IPO as I am nearly totally on benefits.
I am a disabled ex soldier and my income is made up from War pension, army medical pension, income support, DLA, child benefit and incapacity benefit. Will they find ways to make us pay or will they ignore most of it as it is benefits? The insolvency service have informed me that they will put my 2 pensions as income but will not take them into account when calculating IPO's but is there anyone out there that can confirm this?
The stress is building but the relief of having a date is balancing it although Npower are saying they will be out tomorrow to cut us off so fingers crossed !
Thanks for the advice in advance....

this is getting more confusing now. the insolvency service told me that war and medical pensions issued from the armed forces cannot be used in an IPA calculation, i thought i'd check again and now they say it can! this seems to me that its the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
Can anyone confirm one way or the other please!!!!! this is starting to wear me down!0 -
I don't know about the other benefits but income from child benefit is excluded so your surplus has to be £99 plus whatever you get for that before you are liable for an IPA.
Good luck

most of my income is not taken into account but the pensions are, this seems strange as i lose income support to compensate for the pensions to keep us on the level the govt estimate is the minimum amount needed to live on but it can on. ho-hum,
To be honest I just want to get the court appointment over with and get on with rebuilding our lives0
