I have checked the forums and can't seem to find answers for the following.1) How long does the process take to go bankrupt?2) Will my CCJ be included?3) Will I need to show bank statements?4) I have a lot of money drawn out, which has been used for gambling. Even though now, I'm seeing a councillor, through Gamecare. What happens about money which has been unaccounted for?5) Due to stress I have had to move back with my parents. (I'm over 40)I pay them some money each week for keep, is this acceptable.6) I have some CCJ's, will they be included in Bankruptcy?7) I'm a supply teacher, but am very stressed at the moment, due to this. I'm thinking about changing career. Perhaps doing private tuition, and some buying and selling on ebay. Would my Palpal account, and Ebay account be looked into, or frozen? 8) I have a holiday planned, which I booked over 3 months ago. It's in Greece, but not very expensive, since it's camping on the each. Is it advisable to cancel this, even though I won't get a refund?9) If I carry on Supply teaching, can I get money paid into a relatives account.

Don't forget you need to contact one of the debt charities first, just to make sure it's the best thing for you.

If you decide then this is the route for you, it will depend on when you can get a court date. Will my CCJ be included?3) Yes it will
Will I need to show bank statements?. Usually yes, the OR will ask for them before your interview. If not they can obtain them from your bank.4) I have a lot of money drawn out, which has been used for gambling. Even though now, I'm seeing a councillor, through Gamecare. Gambling is seen as a possible BRU/BRO which means if the OR thinks you have acted irresponsibly by gambling, restrictions may be put on you throughout your term of BR. Usually this depends on how much of a % gambling has contributed to your BR

If I carry on Supply teaching, can I get money paid into a relatives account. Best open your own account with either Co-op or Barclays. Both are BR friendly.
Try to relax a little, I know its not easy, but at least you have done the right thing by asking for help. No one will judge you here. We have all been in the same boat. Some of us in a flipping big ship!! Good luck, but believe me there are worst things in life than owing money, if you come to realise this, it might take the pressure off you a bit.

It's not long since I realised that BR was my only option. The best advice I was given was on this board and it was to contact the CCCS 0800 138 1111 (Consumer Credit Counselling Service) and have a talk with them,,, they will arrange a telephone session/interview with you and go through your best options.

If you do this as soon as possible your telephone interview will be sooner and you will know best how to proceed..

After the interview with them and once I knew exactly what my options were (in my case BR really being the only one) I started to feel a bit better and more able to deal with my situation...

I had a interview with Consumer Credit Counselling Service, a few months ago, and really want to put this behind me. Will phone up again.

Have read boards and see that criminal charges can be bought against people who bankrupsy was caused by gambling.

It wasn't my attention to do this, but the gambling took over.

Just need a fresh start.

Not sure what boards you have been reading. But thats nonsense. Going BR is not an criminal offence. You will not go to prison for gambling. End of story. You might get a BRO/BRU which will place restrictions on your BR over a number of years............... Hope that makes you feel better.

Hiya GD & welcome.....I agree with Doger its NOT a criminal offence quite a fair few people have had similar stories to you gone BR & are now discharged....

as doger said you "might" end up on the receiving end of a BRO (more to read here about those)
