This September the Royal Opera House, in collaboration with Deloitte, hosts a three-day festival to champion innovation in the arts. Time Out’s panel of editors have assembled the artists who have excited them most in recent years and chosen a theme that sums up the Royal Opera House both as a public and private place, a place which creates illusions on an industrial scale. The mirror represents all this, not least because its presence dominates the building – in the Paul Hamlyn Hall or the Crush Room, in the studios where the dancers rehearse, in the dressing rooms, or even in the royal box.
