Hi
My OH friend's daughter will be four soon and I want to buy her a present or a few things, spending c£10.
Does anyone have any suggestions please? And if you know of any special offers on re that present, that would be great too.
Thanks.

You gotta help us a bit more with this one! What does she like? Has she got a favourite cartoon character, book, film? You could buy her something with that on or does she like crafting? There are lots of things for little budding artists. Try ELC, tesco, asda, argos and even the cheap shops as you could buy her lots of things for £10 rather than one item. As this age quantity still more important than quality.
My DD loves Tinkerbell and the Fairies, so we've bought her a Fairies flower press (think was round £5 and had stickers and 2 books with it too plus the wooden flowerpress), a fairies decorate your own tshirt (reduced at xmas from M&S), couple of books and clothes with Tink on.

Unfortunately, OH and I don't know her that well at all. We met her once last year. OH and his mate lost touch and only got back in touch last year.
I know last year she liked Winnie the Pooh.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Could you ring them up to find out what she likes? Or how about buying vouchers for a clothes shop? Most 4 yr old girls love clothes.
Hm, not easy when you dont know them that well.0 -

I didn't really want to ring and make a big thing of it. It's just a coincidence that we are in the area where they live in a few weeks so asked the parents out for dinner or lunch. They said they couldn't do lunch as it was their daughter's birthday party.
I doubt very much if we'd be getting her a present every year (maybe a card) so didn't want to make a big deal out of it.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Personally, I'd go for some Crayola Colour Wonder - fits the budget and doesnt take up much room. I found these great for when DS was smaller as the pens and paints only work on the paper they come with so no mess or accidents. It meant I could leave him "painting" on his own whilst I did the housework.0

Most 4 year olds like craft stuff so I would go for something in that area. Shops like Poundland, The Works and Wilkos have great sets for not very much £. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

my 5 year old got tons of art and craft bits for her birthday, which she loved but she really did have way too much!
how about buying a summer dress or a top?? i know it sounds rubbish but personally i like clothes for my girls, as all the school friends tend to buy toys or art things.
if you got some thing from next or m&s they could return it??

If you are anywhere near a Home Bargains they have High School Musical Alarm clocks in sparkly pink... that might be nice for her bedroom and she will be able to get up on time for school in the morning. Got one on Saturday that cost £3.50 but the label price tag said it cost $15.00. Well they look very nice and my daughter who is 6 soon loves hers. You could get a cheap gift bag - shove that in with fancy pens and hair accessories.

As it is such lovely weather what about a bikini & a towel.
If you go down the bikini route I would suggest not getting one with the bra type top - ie one without little triangles (just a personal bug bear but a few of my friends have also said they don't like them!)

My daughter received a variety of crafts/ stickers all based on the butterfly theme at crafts4parties online and she loved them. They sell their crafts in singles/4packs or Party 12 packs. Loads of choice with several themes, ie butterfly, pirate, princess.....0
