Ford Focus 2.0 Titanium '05'

Hi all

Does anyone own the above car or even been in one? I am looking at buying this model from a Ford dealer and would like to hear some personal reviews. I have looked on the net and the likes of Parkers say the car is as good as, if not better than its predecessor.

Mileage wise it has done about 7k and it has £3,000's worth of extras from new. This includes 18" alloys, rear parking sensors and Bluetooth built in. I am sure the Ford chap said a few more but I will know all tomorrow when I go to look at it.

I am looking at spending £12,000 and would like to know if the above model would be a good buy. Also, are there any other cars people recommend? My main requirements are: the usual (PAS, E/W, CL), nice big wheels, a/c (climate control even better), 5 door hatch and it simply has to look good. Also, the car has to be a 54 plate or above so I can keep my private number plate. Insurance wise the car has to be group 10 or under otherwise I will have to pay an extortionate amount.

I look forward to the replies
Many thanks

Focus is a verrrrry popular model, on the used market just now - but there are loads about!!

The 'special' features on this one would help you sell on, in a couple of years, to someone that finds the extras appealing.

But as you can get a NEW Focus, entry level, for under £10,000, do think carefully as to the true value of moving up in the range.

If you like Focus, have you thought of Mazda 3 - this is REALLY a Focus, but with Mazda doing their bit to it - like the Mazda 6 is a Mondeo!! Not so many 3's around, still a newish model & currently good offers in the dealer.

Or even Vauxhall are getting good response from Astra - discounts there too!!

Clik http://www.honestjohn.co.uk & on his This Weeks Best Deals pages, get up to the minute GENUINE offers of loads cars!!

  • Brilliant! Thanks VB. Never seen that website before and it was very helpful. Hopefully the car will be as good as I want it to be.

    Thanks again VB

The latest Volvo S40 is also Focus underneath - might be a bit harder pressed to get one for £12K but IMO it's a better looking car than the Focus, more safety features, and importantly climate control. :D
