Rockstar games have just released Grand Theft Auto 2 as a free download under their classic titles.
Not a suitable game for children, and the game is 5 years old, but it is very playable and should run happily on older hardware. Hefty download though so be warned!

I'm struggling as well. GTA2 has just been released as a classic, and communicated to all GTA SA newsletter subscribers, so they may be a little swamped.
Worth trying in a day or two.
