Can I have some help with my clean up?

Hi,

I was discharged on 9 May 2009 (made br on 8 May 2008) and have got my credit files (well I have Experian, as Equifax couldnt complete my order online, so am waiting for that in the post), so am working on the Experian one at the moment.

I have noticed that not all of my ex-creditors are on the Experian one, so should the rest of them appear on Equifax?

I've gone through my Experian one online and I have a few queries:

I have a couple of ex-creditors down as 'default' (instead of satisfactory), but the current balances are showing as 'settled' - is this good even though it's showing up as a default for 2 of my ex-creditors? Both of the default dates are either on or before I was made BR.

This is where I need the major help I think:

Tescos Personal Finance was down in my bankruptcy, yet on my file it is showing as 'default' and then the amount I apparently still owe!

Is there any point in ringing them up or do I just do the letter in the sticky on this forum asking them to update their records?

I didnt get anything to say I was formally discharged, would a print out from the Insolvancy Service website of my details which does show my discharge date be ok to send along with my bankruptcy notice?

Lastly, the Lloyds bank account I was using to pay my creditors their £1 cheques each month 'appears' to still be open. My debit card has an expiry of 03/11, yet it says that the status is 'satisfactory' and the balance is £0 (which is technically correct as I've 0.16p in there), and there is no 'settled on' date.

I was never sent anything from Llloyds notifying me that my account was to be closed, and them sending me a statement recently I would think would prove that it's still open. I cant for the life of me remember the pin so cant use it at the moment anyway, but if I did, would I get into trouble using a Lloyds account as I thought they didnt have ex-bankrupts on their books or would it be ok as it was an account I had open before I went BR?

    HI

I think the defaults should be marked as either on the br date or anytime before discharge but shouldnt be before.

someone with more knowledge than me will be along to correct me if i am wrong

    regards

    hi again

you do need a copy of the discharge certificate which i think you can get from insolvency service if they wont supply it you would need to contact your local court where the br order was 1st made there is a fee for this something like £60 but is free if you are on jsa/benefit for the credit ref agencys they are just being bloody difficult bit like our friendly banks if it shows on your ref file you was br what part of that dont they understand?

good luck will need to do mine xmas time.

    regards

  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply about the discharge certificate - have just emailed my OR so will see if they'll give me a copy - would really begrudge paying £60 for one!!!

Would appreciate if anyone can help specifically to the Lloyds bank account query and the default/settled query.
