We have just renewed our fixed rate (with a different i.e. new lender), but I have received a job offer from my current company's New Zealand branch. This could be for just a couple of years, or it could be a lifetime who knows. The point is that although I knew of this opportunity before I renewed my mortgage, I renewed on a residential basis because it was by no means a given that it would happen. Now, I am slightly concerned that my lender will think that I just cheated them. Is there a length of time in to a residential mortgage term whereby lenders are willing to accept that you didn't just con them? In my case, it was not a con -- I could not say for sure what I would be doing when I took the new mortgage out.
Thanks for any help.
