Anyone know why there is a huge difference between Equifax and Experian? My Equifax rating is Excellent compared with a Fair rating on Experian.

Hi there,
Not really sure if there is a major difference. In my own opinion I would trust Experian more. I believe they are used a lot by by companies, not sure whether it's because they are cheaper or better, but Experian's always been the one for me:rolleyes:

Direct from themselves0

Does your Equifax report contain a lot more data than the Experian report?
Are there errors on either of the reports?0 -
Nope the Equifax contains a lot less!0

Well that just confirms my (and others') belief that these 'ratings' (and scores) that you pay for from these agencies are worthless!0

Good point, its worth mentioning that sometimes companies like checkmy file don't have access to the all the credit profile details from experian and they give a score for partial information which is very misleading.0 -
Hiya
My Experian score is 900, showing as "Good". But my Equifax is 298, showing as very poor. This makes no sence to me either..0 -
Forget all the credit score business. It is a waste. Simply review your file yourself. It is easy to tell if it is good or bad. e.g. if you have too many recent searches, it doesnt put you in good light.
As stated on this post, most lenders prefer to use Experian....Dont ask me why0
