hi there

cut a long story short i left my hub ( dom violence ) in 2001 and has only just started seeing my son after 8 yrs and paying maintenance after yrs of not a penny, bday or xmas card present.

anyway he started paying an amount to me...which was less than than the csa calculator.

ive started my own business up and every penny counts at mo so i asked for more...he has asked for the csa to get involved....now hes not paid a penny for 8 yrs.....will the csa back pay for when he hasnt paid anything even tho he was working?

thanks for any help[

i think the csa only open a case from the date you ring them and i think it wont be back dated, there are others with much more experience than me that will be along shortly to help you :)

If the CSA were not involved from the beginning, then they cannot backdate and you will have lost the opportunity to recover for the past. There is nothing stopping you from going for it now though.
  • Hey good news he is now paying and seeing his son. I hope he continues. x At least you are now getting something xx
