    Hi,

I have just tried to book, I put my card details in and clicked next, it said only click once, then it just went to a front screen, nothing said it was confirmed/booked and There is nothing in the screen where the booking should show, is this normal?

also did anyone notice the later november dates are missing, as I wanted to go then also.

    Thanks

Cant understand why this happened, but just as long as you didnt complete the booking all should be ok to go right to the beginning again and put in all details.. ( I took ages putting in card details - it kept saying dont submit more than once, wait 20 seconds. I waited ages, tried again but it kept saying ' your card deetails have not been accepted) anyway after about 4 goes, I realised that I had missed out those 3 digits from the back of the card and had left that part blank ! so..put it right and hey presto!
When you are successful you are issued with a booking reference, and then the holiday park will contact you ( this takes AGES) and sets out the prices for any extras/upgrades etc that you think you will need..Its then up to you to accept them or amend them and send the appropriate balance, and thats it..Hope this helps and that everyone gets what they want.

by the way DD I'm sorry I didnt take notice of any dates, ie, the ones in December that you wanted

These promotions always have a minimum spend. In this case it is £40 based on 4 people in a basic caravan (4 X £10). A deluxe caravan would be £60 (4 X £15). It doesn't matter what the ages are, or if less than 4 go, its based on the 4 people share.

But dont forget the service charges on top which will come with the holiday confirmation from either Haven or Park Resorts and be payable, along with any other extras like entertainment passes or bed linen hire, prior to the holiday date.

Most of the parks service charges average between £5 and £8 per night. So, if you don't get the entertainment passes or anything else, the average minimum cost for 3 nights should be around £60, but dependent on the accomodation you choose and the length of stay, could be around £90 to £100.

I booked 4 nights in September at Reighton Sands in Yorkshire last night. Having been there before I have a rough idea of the charges and linen hire, so all in it should cost me around £104.

Thankyou so much for this, after reading around a little, it does say that an infant is included with regards to occupancy.

So will just wait nfor the confirmation now to see how much more we will have to pay in service charges etc, but still a great price for 2 adults 2 kids and an infant for 3 nights.

    No problem. Enjoy your holiday.

By the way, extras for kids are usually:

    Bed guards £5 each

    Highchair £5 each

Travel cot £5 each (these notoriously tend to only fit in the living area)

Bed linen (sheets, pillowcases and quilt covers) is £10 per pack and is hired on a pack per bedroom basis.
    (i.e.2 bedrooms = £20)
Pillows and quilts are provided as standard without charge.

It doesn't have to be expensive if you take your own stuff. (as long as you can get it in the car of course):D

Shame they don't do what The Sun newspaper does and lists the service charges and entertainment pass costs down on the list of parks, that way you can decide which parks to choose from.

Saying that, I've just had confirmation via email and all it is listing is £40 and when I log in to the account, just the £40, or will this extra cost be via postal confirmation?

Didn't have the park I wanted for the date I needed, still have managed to get a park close by.

    Many thanks to all!

The costs were hidden on the right hand side of the main booking page. Hopefully this link will work if not log in and then go to the right hand side above the list of parks and it has a link there

Ah thats interesting. That link quotes the service charge for my site in Yorkshire as £9.99 per night.

The Sun holiday links quote it as £5.95 per night.

How can it be different for the same service? These charges have nothing to do with the operators and come direct from the holiday company.

Check the Sun's details for your park here:
    http://www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk/cgi-bin/UKHS_park_0003.cgi?promo=SUNAUT09

    or follow from this page

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/travel/sunholidays/AutumnHolidays/

Of course, it might be cheaper when the actual confirmation comes through, but it might be worth keeping an eye on this folks. If you find that they are different, and more expensive, query it with Haven or Park resorts, I know I will.
