Whoops! Should read CROSS TRAINER
I want to place an Argos order on a TV which came back into stock this morning (sale item) and also a cross trainer - one was also out of stock.
I wondered if any fitness buffs could voice an opinion as to which out of the two elliptical trainers I am looking at would be the best bet please.
V-Fit or Reebok
I can't do a standard compare at Argos as no V fit info comes up in the compare section, although there is alot of info on the actual item page. There are also no reviews for the V fit to compare.
There are 4 on offer in all
I like charts and gadgets, as it keeps me motivated (recently bought a DS & Walk with me when I should've just got a pedometer LOL). I think I'd find it more of a challenge to pre-program more difficulty in as I went along and try to get through a standard session. I was knocked down in a RTA not so long ago, and as a result all my gym/fitness went out of the window, and I also moved to a smaller house.
I have a long term back injury which I sustained as a child gymnast, this means jogging/treadmill are out, for me whereas a cross trainer would be ideal for me as is pilates and yoga (toning, stretching) swimming etc. I had a Marcy treadmill years ago and wasn't impressed with it as it seemed to 'slip' also exacerbated my displaced sacroiliac joint. I am also only 5'1 and a half so not sure if that's relevant LOL
Thanks for reading

Just checked and the V fit is cheaper at Amazon as standard (£219.99) so I'm notpanicking as much now - although if the Reebok one's better it's a good price and I can use my Argos card.
There's a Reebok one on ebay cheap if anyone else is interested - but it's in Norfolk - not sure how cost effective it'd be to get it by courier - and do they break often?
Your thoughts please.............0 -
Have you actually tried either of them out? I've worked and trained in a lot of gyms, and even at the £2k price bracket there are well and badly designed products. If it were me I'd look to buy a reconditioned/ bankrupt ex-commercial gym model. They will be far better quality - I'm struggling to remember a commercial elliptical trainer breaking down even tho they are used for hours every day.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Thanks for that advice, I really hadn't considered that. I am pushed for space but would happily take some advice on specific models/makes if you could pass any on? I will google to find out if there's an outlet I could check stock from, but if you do manage to think of one from memory and could let me know then so much the better! :T Good advice tho thanks.0

I couldn't comment on which model to buy as I've used neither. I have managed to find one of them cheaper for you though. Also, it looks like Argos have inflated their 'before' price!
V-Fit 07PME Programmable Magnetic Elliptical Trainer
ARGOS NOW £250.12 (WAS £460.12) PLUS £5.80 delivery TOTAL £255.92
FOUND FOR £224 delivered (WAS £299.99)

Purchasing from her would save you £31.92.
Reebok REV-11101 Fusion Cross Trainer
I could only find this for sale in Argos and ebbay, so couldn't find it cheaper for you unless you did a 'local pick-up only'.
Hope this helps. If nothing it else, it could save you £32!!John

I am a similar height to you, and I found a lot of cross trainers were way too high in the step for me, causing me pain over the top of my kneecap. I ended up paying more than I planned for a Kettler VITO EXT but it was worth every penny. Probably nearly treble what you are looking to pay, but if there is any chance you could try some out before you buy it would help you decide - they all feel a bit different in use. I went to my local JJB Sports and the models they were selling were pants compared to the one I eventually bought.0

Get a Kettler!
All non commercial ones tend to break down within a couple of months (my experience with 4 progressively more expensive models - I use mine every day and the welds are the weak points and just fail!)
Kettler have a brill 3 year warranty and no quibbles - I have had 4 engineer visits, several spare parts sent and 3 entire new machines during my 3 years - outstanding service!
My next one will be a Kettler but I will spend about 600 on it as the more expensive models are built in Germany so ought to break down less (Kettler told me this)0 -

Just re-read your OP. Have you tried a Flexi-bar? With the right exercise routine you can strengthen your back and get a cardio workout at the same time. I am qualified to teach Flexi-bar and have been very impressed with the results. The company have 'tame' physiotherapists on the team who can advise on specific exercises if needed.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
