Should I remortgage?

Hi

Is anybody able to offer me any sound advice?

I currently have a 50% share in a property where as a housing association own the other 50% and I pay them £150 a month rent for there share.

My property is worth £115,000

My half is therefore worth £57500

I currently have a repayment mortgage with Kent Reliance Building Society for £37,000 pating 1% above the base rate.

I therefore have £20500 equity in my home although I do have £8,000 debt on Credit card with Sainsbury's paying 8% interest over 5 years which I took out in April.

I earn a basic of £18,200 a year plus about £3,000 in bonus and overtime.

I have put my notice in to finish at work on 31st August as I am going to study accountacy at university full time. I will still work at my present job on a casual basic to cover annual leave and sickness.

My question is to any financial adviser who believes they could get me a mortgage or to anybody who could offer me advice.

I could continue paying my mortgage on 50% which Kent Relaince have offered me a fixed rate of 3.99% for 3 years. However I would still have to pay £150 a month rent. I am sure it would be cheaper to get a fixed rate mortgage over three years and buy the other half of my property but I am not sure I would get a mortgage under my circumstances.

I appologise if this doesn't make clear sence as I am writing it at work as I don't currently have the internet at home. If anybody could offer me advice feel free to ask further questions.

Cheers

knowing that you are on notice at work and presumably about to lose your income I doubt if any self respecting advisor would touch this with a long thing, sorry
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
