If you didn't get a "red letter" what prompted your claim and the successful outcome of it?

I did get letters saying the policy would have a shortfall, but i have no longer got the last few years statements. It just seems suddenly this year they are saying on maturity-2112, the shortfall seems more drastic than i remember.

the shortfall in itself is not a valid reason for complaint to be upheld

Indeed but from the consumer point of view it is often the instigator for the complaint.

hollydays - it would be difficult to say why and without the past statements to compare it makes the job harder.

Wait for the demutualisation windfall and then consider surrendering the policy.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Good to hear. They are always up there in terms of service. Certainly compared to some other providers - Norwich Union for one who are abysmal.

Providers are under no obligation to issue replacement statements though so it would be worth making sure you keep them from now on just to be safe.
