£12 Default !

I have a colourful credit file from bankruptcy in 2006, I was discharged in Jan 2007. I followed advice and sent the discharge notice to all my creditors to get the outstanding balance to show as “satisfied” for each default, apart from one.
The default was with carphonewarehouse for £12.90! I don’t remember having an outstanding balance at the end of my contract and never received any correspondence requesting payment (possibly because I moved address). I contacted them recently and paid the outstanding amount over the phone. A little over two weeks later I rang them back, I informed them my Experian file still shows the amount as outstanding, I was told this will be sorted within two weeks. Three weeks have passed and still no result!
Originally I just wanted them to update my default status to show as “settled”, but Ideally I would like to try to get this default removed. It has been paid in full and was only for £12 anyway! Can anyone offer any advice about what to put in the letter to get this default removed? or do I have more chance of catching a shark with a shoelace, reassuring tone of voice and a sherbet dip...
