Bankruptcy & new bank accounts?

Hi there.
I went bankrupt in August 2007 when my child was taken ill & I had to give up work, I was discharged early 2008. I've not done anything since then about getting a bank account but figure it's about time I start to build up my credit rating etc.... so that in the future my husband & I can try to get a mortgage (living in rented with two babies & constantly having to move because of landlords getting into debt is really getting us down - not to mention disrupting our kids). Can anyone recommend what steps I should be taking? Which banks will take me?
Thanks everso.

No point doing anything else untill that is done.

In the presant climate getting a mortgage is hard for anyone without a deposit.

If you could raise say 5-10% it would help, not sure how much though
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
  • Thanks Blind-as-a-bat. I'll take a look at that link and see where to go from there. :kisses3:

I have read on here that at the moment the mortgage co.s are looking at 25-30% deposit.
